Small grenadier’s cartridge pouch for children of the Royal Guard, made of wood, black leather and white buffalo hide, with a flap adorned with the arms of France and a flaming grenade in each corner, in stamped and gilded brass; complete with its white buffalo leather strap, stitched; body 14.5 x 7.5 cm; strap, width 4.2 cm, length approximately 59 cm, with both fastening loops. (Gilding on the ornamentation worn). Restoration period. Very good condition. This small cartridge pouch belonged to the Duke of BORDEAUX. PROVENANCE: auction in Vichy, 10 March 1990, lot no. 53.
