Chasseurs’ officer’s sabre, 1792 model horse, brass guard: single-branch, decorated with braiding, diamond-shaped lugs, cap with long tail, signed beneath the cross-guard: ‘?MEUNIER?’, tang entirely filigree-worked; slightly curved blade the ‘Montmorency’ type, hallmarked with the lictor’s fasces; leather scabbard, three brass fittings, cut-outand decorated with braiding; the pommel also features a button for attaching it to a shoulder strap, iron tip; length 96.5 cm. (Antique leather, but probably of a later date). Revolutionary period. Good condition.
