Condition report: Unmounted Turkey was one of the great painters of the Papynya community and remained for a very long time as president of this community. He was one of the main painters who, like Clifford Possum or Mick Namarari, could produce figurative paintings, very geometric motifs typical of the Papunya community and "dot painting". He used only the basic colours: yellow, white, black and red. He was a highly respected man of the law, the guardian of the stories of the Tingari beings who created the sacred sites and established the ceremonial laws during the Dreamtime.
