Description
Pappenheimer-style rapier. Forged iron mountings. Ridged, pear-shaped pommel. Wooden tang covered with a double alternating filigree pattern. A body knot from which emerges a multi-branched guard with double openwork and chiselled pontas. Straight, double-edged blade with a central fuller and traces of engraved lettering. A composite piece, with damage and missing parts, partly dating from the 17th century. Total length: 112 cm.
