Andy WARHOL (1928–1987) The American Indian Series – 1976 Colour poster on paper Signed in felt-tip pen in the bottom left-hand corner 127 x 89 cm (small tear in the top left-hand corner) Note: Warhol’s American Indian series was shown in three consecutive exhibitions: Ace Gallery, Paris (France), in October 1976 (our poster), Ace Gallery, Vancouver (Canada), in November 1976, and Ace Gallery, Los Angeles (California), in March 1977. The posters were available for purchase at the Ace Gallery, and Warhol signed copies at all three exhibitions. The image depicts Russell Means, a Native American civil rights activist
