This white form of the goddess Tara is said to appear in order to grant longevity. She
occupies the centre of the composition, richly adorned and resting at the heart of a blossoming lotus.
In the upper register, Manjushri is surrounded by Amitayus on his right and Ushnishavijaya on his left. In the
lower register, an aspect of white Chakrasamvara in union with Vajrayogini is surrounded by a form of green Mahakala and Haya.

The treatment of the highly sinister faces, the clouds, and the very particular palette suggest
attribute it to the workshops developed by the Qianlong emperor in Chengde, Hebei, which were responsible for decorating the many temples in the region.
These workshops were responsible for decorating the many Buddhist temples and shrines he had built there during his reign.
The most famous are: the Puning temple, built in 1755, a reproduction of the Samye monastery in Central Tibet
