This type of vase, known as a "bangchui ping", owes its name to its shape, which is reminiscent of the wooden pestle used for beating laundry; it flourished during the Qianlong reign. This shape, typical of the Qing dynasty, is accompanied by decoration that continues the elegance and subtlety of the blue-white porcelain of the Yongle and Xuande reigns.
An identical example is in the collections of the Najing Museum.
This type of vase, known as a bangchui ping, takes its name from its form, which recalls the wooden bat traditionally used for beating laundry; it enjoyed particular favour during the Qianlong period. This shape, distinctive of the Qing dynasty, is complemented by a decorative scheme that echoes the elegance and refinement of blue-and-white porcelains of the Yongle and Xuande reigns.
An identical example is preserved in the collections of the Nanjing Museum.
