CHINA, Ming Dynasty, Jiajing mark and period
Very rare porcelain bowl
Mounted on a short foot, the circular wall slightly flared at the opening, covered throughout with a monochrome yellow glaze. A six-character Jiaqing mark in a double blue border below the base. With matching wooden base.

Diameter: 19.5 cm
(Two chips on the rim with short cracks, a longer crack on the wall)
Provenance: Collection of the current owners' maternal grandmother, Mrs Leewitz, who lived in New York at the beginning of the 20th century. She travelled to Asia for about a year around 1930, during which time she acquired various objets d'art directly from Asia. Passed down through the generations.
