CHINA, Ming Dynasty
Longquan stoneware group
Representing a Guanyin on a throne within a large grotto decorated with a rich vegetal décor, filled with branches of flowers and mushrooms. The goddess is depicted looking serene, adorned with numerous jewels and wearing a large tiara around her head. At her side are two stewards in prayer, as well as her two attributes, the bird and the libation vase. The ensemble is partially enamelled with a celadon monochrome glaze typical of Longquan production.
