CHINA, Ming Dynasty
Bronze "zun" shaped vase based on archaic ritual tableware. It is mounted on a circular foot resting on three zoomorphic elements, the chalice-shaped body decorated in relief with taotie masks and flanked by three small rings, the cylindrical neck widely flared at the opening and decorated with taotie and banana leaves, and flanked by two phoenix-shaped handles.
