TIBET, 18th century Gilded bronze statuette representing the deity Avalokiteshvara seated in lalitasana on an elaborate throne decorated with Buddhist lions, a row of lotus petals on the lower part, resting on a quadrangular base. The divinity depicted looks serene, with half-closed eyes and a slight smile on the lips, one hand brought to the chest and the other holding a lotus branch. The head is encircled by an elaborate tiara housing the image of Buddha, the hair pulled back into a fan-shaped bun. Height : 15 cm Weight: approximately 719 g Provenance: - Monaco Collection
