Description
SINO-TIBET, 19th century A large ceremonial silver flask, presumed to be a low-titre, mounted on a high foot, the circular body with a flattened profile, consisting of two large oval celadon jade plaques in the central parts, with relief-carved decoration of peach branches in baskets and bats. The entire silver section features delicate repoussé and chased decoration of double ruyi friezes around the medallions, flanked on the sides by rampant dragons and chimeras forming the handles, the latter comprising two white jade rings. The set also features a series of hard stones, including coral, malachite and sodalite. The domed lid is topped with a large celadon jade knob.
