Small libation cup in white Chinese porcelain in the shape of a lotus leaf, China, Dehua, Kangxi period (1662–1722)
Small scholar’s vessel in white Chinese porcelain, moulded in the shape of a broadly flared lotus leaf, with an irregularly lobed rim and veins rendered in slight relief. The lower part consists of lobes serving as feet. A lotus stem, moulded in relief, extends down the side of the cup. The whole piece is covered in an ivory-white glaze.
