Description
Snuff box made from a keluak seed (Pangium edule), China, 20th century
The Chinese craftsman has made the most of the fruit’s natural shape and its original hollow structure to create an extremely delicate hollowed-out form. The shell has an asymmetrical shape and features beautifully striking, branched veins on its surface. The base bears a large, elliptical hilum scar, left in its natural state. Beautiful patina from use. Coral stopper.
Height: 5.5 cm
