Description
Celadon nephrite rhyton, China, 19th–20th century
This libation cup has a flared cylindrical shape; it is deeply hollowed out and features, at the top, a horn-shaped spout curved backwards, which serves as a pouring spout. The lower section rises from the forepaw of a horned dragon resting on its front legs. The side is carved with an archaic-style decoration reminiscent of a taotie mask.
Height: 11.4 cm
