Set of textiles comprising a jacket, trousers, shoes and a child’s frilled collar, China, 19th–20th century
The child’s outfit, comprising a jacket buttoned on the right, trousers and shoes, is made of red damask silk decorated with bamboo, lingzhi and plum blossoms. The shoes are embroidered with a chrysanthemum. The red silk collar is embroidered with multicoloured and metallic threads depicting a four-clawed dragon in medallions surrounded by peaches, flowers, bats and leiwen friezes.
