Description
Georges Bru (1933–2023) Underdrawing Graphite on paper, signed lower right, dated on the reverse 18 x 25 cm Condition report: Framed His work as a drawing teacher at the École des Beaux-Arts in Toulon, until 1993, testifies to his mastery of drawing; his body of work reveals the full subtlety of his line, chiaroscuro and blended shading. His quiet compositions are imbued with an atmosphere that is at once hushed, unsettling and subdued. His figures and animals, as if suspended on the surface of the paper, lend his work a surrealist dimension.
