In l'Intransigeant dated 26 June 1927, Maurice Raynal wrote about the exhibition of Francisco Borès at the Galerie Percier, which ran from 23 June to 7 July 1927: "Borès is a young man who prefers to work outside all the literature of the "ism" schools, which are a little out of fashion today, to develop the romanticism of his age within the framework of the discoveries of his great elders, Braque and Picasso. But his romanticism remained highly pictorial. His vision revels in the composition of plastic rhythms, from which any extra-lucid story is banished. A severe inspiration borrows from natural elements that do not exceed the legitimate resources of the painter. And the expression of his work is directed by a talent for colour that is excessively fine, sometimes vigorous and rich in often original plastic or coloured harmonies.
