‘Fledermaus’ living room suite in stained bentwood, comprising a table with a slightly concave circular top incorporating a glass panel covering a fabric with a black-enamelled geometric pattern, blue and cream, on a slightly recessed four-legged base with tubular double legs joined at the top and bottom by a small sphere on a circular plinth edged with brass, and four chairs with curved, enveloping backrests and oval seats adorned with four small spheres on the reverse, on corner-style bases with tubular legs joined by a low horseshoe-shaped crossbar. Backrest and seat upholstered in fabric with black and blue geometric patterns on a cream background (signs of wear and scuffs).

History: this set is a contemporary reissue of the designs created by Josef Hoffmann in 1907 for the décor of the Fledermaus cabaret in Vienna. Following an initial historical production by the firm Jacob & Josef Kohn, Wittmann now produces reissues of these iconic designs.
