The curators’ introduction reads as follows: “Born in Great Britain in 1916, Brion Gysin is a multifaceted artist – a painter, poet, performer, photographer and musician often associated with the Beat Generation. As the inventor of the Cut-up and the Dreamachine, his work lies at the intersection of painting and writing, drawing on an ever-changing range of visual languages.”
