The abbreviation ‘HER’ for Hérouval can also be seen on this work. Of particular note here is the depiction of a skeletal bird with a piercing gaze, shown in profile. Dado plays with the negative space, which is particularly striking here, for example in the outline of the nose or the figure’s face (forehead, eyes, nose).
