Salvador DALI (1904–1989) Woman with a Rose – Belgian Summer Festival, 1956. Indian ink drawing on the cover of the catalogue for the 9th Belgian Summer Festival in 1956, dedicated to Salvador Dalí. Published by Editions de la Connaissance, Brussels. Organised by the Casino Communal in Knokke-le-Zoute, Belgium, in 1956, the catalogue for the exhibition dedicated to the artist that summer features an original drawing of a woman with a rose on the front cover, alongside the photogravure. Signed ‘Dalí’ in ink in the bottom right-hand corner. Bears an inscription: ‘For Para R Rousseau, Long live Belgium, Hello Dalí’. Dated 1973. Dimensions: 23.5 x 18.5 cm. Provenance: private collection, Belgium.
