Rabbit, 2015. ‘Rabbit’ bangle in silver-coloured metal with a hammered finish; an open bangle adorned with a flat, relief-style silhouette of a leaping rabbit, attached to the ring. In its original box from the publisher GUS + AL. Dimensions: 6 x 5.5 x 2 cm. The leaping rabbit motif, rendered as a simplified silhouette without any engraved detail, is in keeping with the pop art style characteristic of Jeff Koons’ work, notably his ‘Rabbit’ series (1986), which remains one of the icons of contemporary art. The Gus+Al jewellery line, launched in 2015 by Justine Koons and Alison Brokaw, featured limited-edition pieces designed by the artist specifically for the occasion.
