Description
Georges MATHIEU (1921–2012). Sweet box. 1968. A blue porcelain box from the Mantes range. The exterior is decorated with a deep blue grand feu motif known as ‘Sèvres blue’, whilst the interior is painted with small gold motifs on a white background. Based on an original design by the artist, created in 1968. On the base, Georges Mathieu’s signature with the year ‘68’ in gold, the Sèvres Manufactory mark in green, and the stamp ‘Doré à Sèvres, manufacture nationale’ in red. Supplied in its original packaging from the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres. Dimensions: 14.5 x 14.5 x 9 cm.
