Arado Rathenow, a three-piece mantel garniture with an airplane and dice, central piece and two side pieces, Art Deco, Germany, 1943. Aluminum and wood. Central piece, featuring an airplane mounted on a gear, which encloses a sphere or globe, flanked by two anvils. Two side pieces each featuring a die. Art Deco style and period. Marked 'Arado Rathenow 1943' (on the globe). Height side pieces: 21 cm. Arado Flugzeugwerke GmbH was a major manufacturer within the German wartime industry during World War II, operating a large production facility and supply plant in Rathenow (located west of Berlin).
