Description
Luis Pérez de la Oliva (XX), 'President S/C' for Fase, a Mid-Century desk lamp, teak, lacquered metal, Spain, circa 1970. Teak, ocher-lacquered metal, chrome-plated metal, glass diffuser. Pivoting desk lamp on a round, stepped base with a curved teak stand to which a chrome-plated neck is attached with a single screw. A circular shade with a glass diffuser. Two E 27 sockets. A rocker switch in white plastic on the shade. Designed by the Spanish designer Luis Pérez de la Oliva and patented in 1963. Produced by the Spanish firm Fase (Fabricaciones Seriadas) from its inception in 1964 until at least the 1980s. This example features one screw on the neck, as shown in the 1974 catalogue. Later catalogue images show two screws. Label on the neck with inscription: 'fase / modelo [? ]' At the bottom in relief on the foot: 'fase / Modelos patendados / MADRID - ESPANA'.
