Description
Massive, an orange UFO pendant lamp 'Bug Eye', space age design, Belgium, circa 1970. Plastic. Pendant lamp made of orange plastic in the shape of a flattened sphere with five lens-shaped openings, filled with smoky transparent plastic. A central light point, E27 socket. A scalloped opening at the bottom. The lamp was produced by the Belgian company Massive and is referred to as a 'bug-eye' lamp or 'UFO' lamp. The model is often incorrectly attributed to the Italian designer Luigi Colani (1928-2019). Belgium, circa 1970. Height including ceiling piece: 80 cm. (40 x 19 x 40 cm) Condition Report: Round cap fitting partly broken.
