LUSTUCRU - c.1925
Illustration by Pierre-Andry FARCY (not mentioned)
Rare original lithographed sheet metal publisher's stamp, domed. 14.5 x 8.2 cm "G.De.Andreis & cie - Marseille".
- Very good condition.
Spectacular colours, vivid and luminous, with a beautiful brilliance.
Very discreet alterations to the corners, without detracting from the exceptional character of the whole.
Lustucru, which originated from a pasta factory founded in Grenoble in 1824 and bought by Louis Cartier-Millon in 1871, expanded rapidly under the impetus of his heirs.
In 1911, following a poster competition, the designer Synave created the famous blue checkerboard, while Jean-Louis Forain inspired the name "Lustucru" from an old nursery rhyme, "C'est la mère Michel" (It's Mother Michel), thus giving rise to the name "Per 'Lustucru" for egg pasta.
