Signed "ARMAND RAPEÑO" (1886-1945 French poster artist, close to Jean d'Ylen)
Rare original lithographed advertising board. 55.2 x 35.2 cm.
- Good condition.
Colours well preserved, golds intact, with a beautiful original brilliance.
Slight wear to edges, softened corners.
There is a rectangular reserve for a calendar at the bottom, with old traces of adhesive. Slight marks of use in the decoration, with no effect on the visual.
On 1 June 1931, the petrol brand adopted the single name Standard, replacing the local names (Eco for France, Pratt's for England, Lempo for Italy, Dapolin for Germany), before the gradual generalisation of Esso.
