Founded in Marseilles in 1828 by Pierre Rampal, the Rampal company was part of the Marseilles soap tradition. After moving to Salon-de-Provence, it gained international recognition when its heir was awarded a prize at the 1900 Universal Exhibition.
In the 20th century, the soap factory distinguished itself with a number of innovations (toilet soap, soap flakes, shampoo), while perpetuating its traditional know-how.
Taken over at the end of the 20th century under the name Rampal Latour, it remains one of the last historic manufacturers of Marseille soap.
