An important neo-Gothic-style silver ciborium with rich decoration of polychrome enamelled medallions; the multi-lobed foot is decorated with foliage alternating with enamelled medallions depicting the biblical Lamb and biblical invocations in Latin, echoed on the false cup; the knot, with protruding ribs enamelled with the letters JESUS; the lid adorned with enamelled Theological Virtues and Eucharistic symbols. Inscriptions: ‘gift from Mr de Terves and Mrs du Reau’ and ‘18 December 1873’. Hallmarks of Master Goldsmith Antoine Jolivet, registered in 1857.
