Description
RELIC MEDALLION of Saint Thérèse, made of blackened wood and gilded brass, containing a rich arrangement of paper curls in coral and gold, decorated with scrolls. In the centre, a handwritten scroll reading ‘Ruban touché… bras de…’. Beneath this inscription lies the ribbon, surmounted by a row of small pearlescent beads. On the reverse, the back is sealed with a green paper bearing a handwritten label in Spanish: “Medida del braço de nuestra madre Santa Theresa de Jesus y tocada a su santo corazon” (translating as: Measure of the arm of our holy mother Saint Teresa of Jesus and touched to her holy heart). Early 19th century. Diameter: 9 cm Minor signs of wear.
