Description
[TREATY OF THE PYRENEES] – “There are no more Pyrenees”. A ball held in aid of the French and Spanish Red Cross organisations for the wounded in Morocco (...) at the Pavillon Royal, September 1925. In-plano in folio sheets, bound in a red cardboard cover (worn) decorated with a gilded metal medallion bearing the Great Arms of Spain. Printed in an edition of 300 copies (this one being number 200), featuring reproductions of 8 engraved plates illustrating the marriage of Louis XIV and the Treaty of the Pyrenees, produced in collaboration with the Chalcographie du Louvre, based on works by PERELLE, COCHIN, Le BRUN, etc. With an autograph dedication: ‘To the Marquis d’Arcangues, the refined poet and the greatest animator of Biarritz’. (Some browning at the edges, damaged slipcase, small stains)
