[ASIA] TIBET, 18th century
Thangka in tempera on canvas, the composition is centred on the tantric goddess Kurukulla, represented with red skin, dancing in a dynamic posture on a lotiform base. The divinity is adorned with rich ornaments, necklaces and garlands of pearls, wearing a high headdress embellished with heads and jewels, her body placed in front of a large flamboyant mandorla framed by foliage and flowers in full bloom. The lower register features a mountainous landscape populated by animals, figures and stupas, while stylised clouds and rock formations frame the scene.
