BURMA, Myanmar (art of Mandalay), 19th century. Large sculpture of a Buddha in patinated and partially gilded bronze, his eyes half closed. He is seated in bhumisparsha mudra, making the gesture of taking the earth as witness. H_100 cm W_91 cm D_58 cm, accident to the base at the back, paint chips. Provenance: private collection in the south of France.
