Description
A polychrome enamelled copper bowl decorated with dragons chasing a flaming pearl through clouds on a midnight blue background. The colours of the cloisonné enamel are richer and more intense than those of the porcelain. The dragon decoration is also more delicate, and the way in which the scales are painted differs from porcelain, giving it a more refined and complex appearance. This craft reached its peak in Guangdong during the Qing dynasty and was known as "Guangdong enamel". In addition to Europe, it was also exported in large quantities to Southeast Asia and was particularly appreciated by the Vietnamese royal family of the Nguyen dynasty.(Damage and missing parts).Chine pour le Viêt-Nam, dynastie Qing (1644-1912).A POLYCHROME ENAMELED COPPER BOWL, CHINA FOR VIETNAM, QING DYNASTY (1644-1912).HAUT. 6 CM (2 3/8 IN.) - DIAM. 11,2 CM (4 7/16 IN.)
