SMALL CABINET - "KÔDANSU"
in lacquered wood enhanced with chiselled metal fittings, featuring on the front one large and two small drawers in the lower section, and two doors revealing six drawers; the drawers and the reverse of the doors are decorated with Japanese landscapes in gold hiramaki-e on a black background, the doors adorned on the outside with two matching cartouches, featuring a taka design and gold and silver hiramaki-e depicting a bird of prey by a waterfall observing cranes in flight on the other door; the panels, in reddish-brown lacquer on the front and black on the sides, are decorated with floral motifs.
