In the Company School style, North India, 19th century
Two watercolours on paper depicting the procession of a man mounted on horseback and surrounded by a foot guard, and an elephant mounted by its mahout and a second figure. Inscriptions in Persian identifying each scene, and inscriptions on the reverse in French. Framed.

Inscription on the reverse of one of the watercolours stating "Collection of Prince Alexis Solstikof, bought in 1882".
