VAUTRIN Line (1913–1997) – A necklace comprising cascading beads of polychrome talosel, most of which are adorned with fragments of coloured mirror, supporting a domed pendant set with a ‘witch’s mirror’ at its base. Marked ‘Joux’ on the reverse. Length: 66 cm; height of the pendant: 3 cm. Note: The signature ‘Joux’, found on certain talosel pieces by Line Vautrin, is a contraction of ‘bijoux’ (jewellery). It is a signature mark used by the designer for certain pieces of jewellery, in keeping with her taste for wordplay and concise phrases.
