MATHIEU Georges Mathieu & Manufacture nationale de Sèvres (publisher) – Box in blue-fired hard-paste porcelain, decorated with an abstract design in gold based on a motif by the artist. Signed on the base by the Manufacture, with the artist’s mark and the date the model was created: 1968 (1977 edition). Diameter: 14.5 cm; height: 9 cm. Note: A leading figure in lyrical abstraction and the Second School of Paris following the Second World War, Georges Mathieu is also known for the logo of the Antenne 2 (A2) television channel and for the design of the 10-franc coins.
