THOMAS Alain (born 1942) & Manufacture LONGWY – Toucan with a streamlined beak. Earthenware lamp base with glazed decoration. Signed ‘Alain Thomas’ within the decoration, stamped with the manufacturer’s mark and numbered 63/100 on the base. Total height: 37 cm. Note: A Nantes-based artist, Alain Thomas has left his mark on the city’s public spaces with the ‘Toucan with a streamlined beak’ mural, installed on Rue Fanny-Peccot, near the Town Hall. His work is also featured in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Nantes with the ‘Triptych of the Nativity’. His compositions served as the inspiration for the ‘LUCIA’ sound and light show, projected onto the cathedral’s façade.
