Description
Regie Magistrali patenti containing the laws and statutes of the sacred religion and military order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus Turin, from the Royal Printing House, 1816. In-4º, 108 pp. (Water stains, wear to the binding, adhesive tape woven into the spine). On 27 December 1816, Victor Emmanuel I, King of Sardinia, promulgated the Regie Magistrali Patenti, a document printed in Turin by the Royal Printing Office which sets out the laws and statutes of the Order of Saints Maurice and Lazarus. This is the official text setting out the organisation, duties and emblems (such as the Grand Cross and the Small Cross) of the equestrian and religious order. On page 101 is the design of the Grand Cross of the Order.
