HONDIUS, after. ‘Sabaudia ducatus La SAVOIE’, c. 1630. Sheet for the map engraved with a burin on copper in black, with a small scroll-shaped cartouche. Outside the margins: 18.2 x 25.3 cm This map is a reduced version of the famous historical map of the Duchy of Savoy, originally entitled ‘Sabaudia Ducatus, la Savoye’, engraved and published by the renowned Dutch family of cartographers, the Hondius. There are errors on this map: Annecy is named Amey, and Chamonix appears to be situated on the plain.
