Many found their way into collections in Europe, the US and Canada in the early decades of the 20th century. Among the many different types of bronze fittings or trappings are small bronze cruciform fittings similar in size and design to the present pair. Compare with a pair of bronze fittings in the collection of King Gustav Adolf of Sweden (1882-1973), published in Nils Palmgren, Selected Chinese Antiquities from the Collection of Gustav Adolf Crown Prince of Sweden, Stockholm, 1948, pl. 108:3 and 4.
