Japan, Meiji era (1868–1912)/Taishō era (1912–1926), 19th/20th century
Made of lacquered wood, comprising two separate sections arranged vertically, the lower section featuring two drawers and the upper section featuring two drawers and a cupboard, each with elaborately chiselled iron lock plates, handles and corner fittings, and with carrying handles on either side.
