Catherine Huiban (born in 1962) The Passage of Time Oil on canvas 55 x 38 cm Painting came into my life over thirty years ago, when I walked through the door of the Atelier Révillon in Barbizon. It was there, thanks to the invaluable guidance of my teacher Georges Dalmen, that I learnt everything I know. Over the years, I have refined my vision and my technique, inspired by the beauty of our local landscapes. I regularly exhibit and share my work through exhibitions and other opportunities that arise. This painting, which depicts an old, dilapidated cottage left in its natural state and long uninhabited, was inspired by my contemplation of this refuge, which I never failed to admire every time I passed by on my way to the studio – particularly on that sunny day, 20 September.
