Photographic portrait of Prince Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte (1856–1879) as a child, presented in a blackened wooden and gilded bronze frame which also bears his autograph signature and a small label reading ‘presented by H.R. The Imperial Prince in Paris on 2 February 1864’. Presented in a black leather case bearing the coat of arms of the Second Empire. Crafted by Maison Péret, rue de Montmorency, Paris (signature on the lock). Dimensions of the case: 5 x 38 x 25.5 cm Dimensions of the frame: 35 x 22.5 cm
