A SET comprising FIVE MANIPLES and THREE CHAPEL ELEMENTS, embroidered with a pelican in a blend of cotton, silk and silk velvet, in the liturgical colours of the penitential season (pelican unstitched, signs of wear). Late 19th century. Height of maniples: 45 cm. Height of textiles: 125 cm and 69 cm. Included is ONE EXORCISM PRAYER according to Leo XIII: LAVIS on paper and cardboard from a CALENDAR dated 1899 depicting Saint George slaying the dragon (shows signs of wear). Early 20th century. Dimensions: 26.5 x 43 cm. Provenance: formerly in the possession of Breton nuns responsible for liturgical linens.
