Description
CANON’S PECTORAL CROSS in vermeil, openwork with vine shoots. The arms of the Roman cross are formed of white enamel ermine patterns alternating with rays. Centred on each side is a polychrome enamel medallion, one depicting Saint Corentin, the other the profile of Pope Pius IX, dated 1856. With its blue satin ribbon and a leather pouch featuring stylised decoration, bearing a label confirming its provenance from the former Major Seminary of Quimper (signs of wear, minor chips to the enamel). Dimensions: 7.8 x 7.4 cm. Provenance: Canon F. Falc’hum, Quimper.
