Description
BLEUN-BRUG, Brittany: A SIGNIFICANT SET of EIGHT MANIPLES in a blend of cotton, polyester, silk and silk velvet, in liturgical colours, comprising five for the penitential seasons, two for the ordinary seasons and one for the feasts of the Holy Martyrs (showing minor signs of wear). Dated between 1920 and 1950. Included are TWO CORPORALS in the colours of the ‘Privilegio del bianco’, and a wool ALTAR CLOTH in penitential colours (with the perforations and cross removed).
Provenance: formerly in the possession of Breton nuns responsible for liturgical linens.
